Veolia Water took responsibility for the water supply and the wastewater treatment of the Montataire site.
A subsidiary of the worldwide steel group Arcelor, Arcelor Atlantique et Lorraine operates a plant in Montataire, specialized in cold-rolled flat products, both coated and uncoated.
The production of 1,400,000 tonnes per year of rolled steel requires a supply of raw water, softened water, demineralized water, high-pressure hot water, steam and compressed air.
The effluent and waste generated by the plant are treated on site in Sollac's dedicated facilities.
The goal of Arcelor Atlantique et Lorraine was to improve the economical, technical and environmental performances of its facilities.
In order to refocus on its core business, i.e. steel pickling, rolling and surface treatment, Arcelor Atlantique et Lorraine was looking for a partner to take over responsibility for the provision of utilities and the treatment and disposal of the plant's effluents and waste.
